On November 11, 2024, the People's Committee of Phu Tho Province organized a provincial-level firefighting and rescue (FFR) drill at the Muong Thanh - Phu Tho Hotel Complex in Viet Tri City. This critical activity aims to enhance the capability and rapid response of the provincial firefighting and rescue forces in handling complex fire and explosion scenarios. Hiep Hoa is proud to accompany Phu Tho's firefighting and rescue forces, contributing to building a safer society and protecting lives and property for the community.
The fire drills was attended and directed by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee; Major General Nguyen Đinh Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue (under the Ministry of Public Security); and Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police. In his opening remarks, the Vice Chairman emphasized the significance of the drill in enhancing fire prevention and rescue capabilities. He also highlighted it as an opportunity for both professional and semi-professional forces to coordinate and practice handling complex situations that may arise within the province.
The drill scenario simulated a fire outbreak in the basement of the hotel complex caused by an electric vehicle short-circuiting during battery charging, which led to the fire spreading to other vehicles and generating significant heat and smoke. Responding forces quickly took action but were confronted with two additional hazardous situations: a car fire in front of the hotel lobby resulting from a traffic collision, and another fire on the 9th floor of the building caused by an electrical equipment malfunction.
Additionally, at a construction site where scaffolding was being installed for an advertisement board, a collapse occurred due to panicked individuals colliding with the structure. Upon receiving the report, the Phu Tho Provincial Police promptly coordinated with rescue forces from neighboring areas to implement timely measures to handle the complex fire and explosion scenarios.
The drill mobilized 17 units from the Phu Tho Provincial Police and relevant agencies across the province, with the support of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Police and the Phu Tho Military Command. A total of approximately 450 personnel and 42 specialized vehicles, including fire trucks, rescue vehicles, ladder trucks, and water supply vehicles, were involved. Notably, the participation of firefighting and rescue vehicles from Hiep Hoa Special Purpose Vehicle Joint Stock Company enhanced the strength and effectiveness of the response to the incident.
This year, the simulated scenario involving an electric vehicle fire required modern equipment and vehicles. New technological tools were deployed, such as unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with fire-extinguishing payloads, smoke extraction vehicles, and advanced firefighting vehicles. These advanced resources enabled the firefighting and rescue forces to quickly and effectively handle complex fire and explosion incidents, ensuring the absolute safety of both people and property.
The drill was a success, achieving all the set objectives and requirements. This demonstrates the thorough preparation and coordination between forces, as well as the effective use of modern equipment and vehicles to handle emergency situations. The drill not only enhanced command skills and operational coordination but also promoted the widespread involvement of the public in fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue efforts.
The presence of Hiep Hoa firefighting and rescue vehicles in this drill showcased Hiep Hoa’s strong capabilities and commitment to contributing to the community, enhancing fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue efforts. This marks an important step in building a safer society and protecting the property and lives of the public from potential fire and explosion hazards.
