Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024, with the participation of 66 international delegations and more than 240 defence industry enterprises from 49 countries, took place from December 19 to December 22 at Gia Lam International Airport (in Long Bien District, Hanoi).
The exhibition is of international stature, helping Vietnamese enterprises improve their production capacity, enhance their competitiveness and gradually move towards export, participating deeply in the global supply chain. This is an opportunity to promote quality products, affirming Vietnam's position on the world defence industry map.
Not only is it an expo to display advanced military equipment, but also modern fire prevention and fighting equipment. This is an important occasion for domestic and foreign experts to introduce the most modern and advanced equipment of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force.
Convergence of the most advanced technologies in the field of fire protection & fire fighting
At the exhibition, a series of modern equipment from the world's leading manufacturers were introduced. Among them, the most prominent are automatic fire extinguishing systems using robots that can move flexibly in harsh environments, smart smoke sensor systems integrated with AI, and drones serving surveillance and rescue work in emergency situations.
Hiep Hoa Special Purpose Vehicle Joint Stock Company participated in the Exhibition and displayed advanced products with outstanding vehicle lines such as: excavator, boom truck, fire fighting robot, fire truck, troop transport trucks ,... and supporting equipment as well as optimal technical solutions, contributing to promoting the domestic defence industry.
Firefighting robot introduced for the first time at Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024
The 114 firefighting robot was researched and produced by the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting. The firefighting robot weighs 500kg, is 1.6m long, 0.68m high and 0.79m wide. "This robot has an integrated information system from the robot to the external system control center and has cameras at various angles to serve firefighting and rescue as well as directly communicate with victims inside and can carry people.”
In addition to its main function of spraying water to extinguish fires, the robot also has a hydraulic arm to get access to the scene instead of firefighters in dangerous areas with many toxic chemicals. The robot is capable of climbing many complex terrains thanks to its flexible track system, thereby bringing the fire hose into the scene, in places where the police cannot directly access.
To get access to the fire fighting scenes, there will be a hose to carry water from the fire truck or pump outside into the robot. The design materials are heat-resistant, the robot itself has water nozzles around to protect itself.
Remote fire fighting system equipment by Z113 factory of the Ministry of National Defense
The General Department of Defence Industry provides remote fire-extinguishing launchers designed to extinguish hard-to-reach fires such as forest fires and toxic chemical fires. The launch distance can be up to 200m with 20 simultaneous launchers. Each shell in a barrel can extinguish a fire with an area of 9m².
Practice and Real-life Experience
In addition to the outdoor display area with large and magnificent weapons and equipment, the indoor display area also attracts a large number of people to visit and experience, with the introduction of a series of Vietnamese defense industry products that innovate display technology in the display, specifically using 3D mapping technology, sand table models of major campaigns, virtual reality technology (VR)...
In particular, at the fire prevention area at the exhibition, people had the opportunity to directly experience the practice and demonstration of fire prevention equipment. Simulation situations such as fire ladder trucks used to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings, smoke extraction vehicles used to extract smoke to prevent suffocation for firefighters working in underground tunnels or industrial zones were organized on the spot, helping viewers better understand the effectiveness and features of the equipment.
The exhibition is not only a technological playground but also a bridge for Vietnam to expand cooperation with countries and international organizations in the field of fire prevention and fighting. Partners have expressed their interest in technology transfer, investment and development of fire prevention and fighting systems in Vietnam, towards research and development and proactive production of fire prevention and fighting equipment to meet the needs of the new situation.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is not only a place to gather advanced technology but also a strong commitment of Vietnam, once again affirming the important role in scientific research on fire prevention and fighting. The display of modern equipment not only raises public awareness of fire safety but also demonstrates Vietnam's determination in researching and applying fire prevention and fighting science and technology to meet the needs in the new situation of the country.
